Item description from seller

"A story of the daring exploits of the G Men,'' which thrilled young readers in the 1920s-1930s in the real-life era of gangsters, rum runners, & the "government men,'' particularly those led by Eliot Ness, who battled against them. This was the first book in a series that would only last for 2 books & featured young Bob Houston, who becomes a special agent for the FBI by book's end. A FIRST EDITION, unknown printing, from 1935, this hardcover has yellow cloth-covered boards lettered in black to front & spine. 251 pages. Condition is solidly Good: generally quite clean, with light exterior soil & foxing to all outside page edges. Interior pages are heavily tanned, commensurate with age & paper quality, but completely unmarked save for old sticker & 2 words to ffep. Binding straight & strong, but rear hinge is cracked. Corners & extremities bumped. The colorful DJ is Fair-Good: colorful & bright, but missing large section from top of spine-front cover, with smaller chips to all other corners, large one to lower back edge; nicely protected in new mylar cover Free! Our photos depict the EXACT book you will receive from us--never "stock" images of books we don't actually have!
