The dust jacket for this volume has the price on both the front and rear flaps, $3.50, and is done in pinks, blacks and tans. There some wear, folds, discoloration, small tears, at the spine ends, folds and edges, however, it presents as bright and colorful. There is light soiling and a water spot to the back panel. The orange boards are bright and vibrant, and the dark blue/black lettering is strong contrast to the orange of the boards. The end papers are done in purple ink and the name Frank W. Peers is on the lower right corner of the front free end paper, rear paste down. The top edge is dyed blue. There are 241 pages to the volume, including a list of books written by Horatio Alger. The page count does not include the 11 leafs with images. Additionally, the frontispiece is also included in this volume.
