First edition with the same date on the copyright page as on the title page. The book is bound in yellow cloth with lovely floral Art Nouveau banner and titling stamped on the front cover. Covers are lightly soiled. Front hinge is cracked at the ful tile page, but the text block is firm. The title page is loose from the binding. for about five inches down from the top edge and there are no missing pages. Illustrated throughout with drawings in black and white on glossy paper by American artist C.D. Weldon. The author was an American journalist for The New York Sun. Please see all images.
