Edges lightly spotted. Very good indeed in the uncommon dust wrapper, non-price-clipped but lightly toned and dust soiled. A selection of pieces originally printed in the 'Alpine Journal', followed by the late Robert Philip Hope's forty-three page paper, 'Solitary Climbs', which also appears here in bookform for the first time, and is accompanied by a seven-page memoir by Kirkpatrick, his regular climbing partner. This copy from the library of Lieutenant Colonel A.E.Tydeman, Vice President of The Association of British Members of the Swiss Alpine Club, with his signed bookplate to the front pastedown alongside his inked acquisition date of 1939.
