Always With Honor: Chapter 1

From Passage Publishing comes Always with Honor: The Graphic Novel, Chapter 1, the first installment of Alex Wisner’s visionary comic book adaptation of Always with Honor: The Memoirs of General Wrangel. In this issue... June 1914. Russia stands on the precipice of an uncertain future. Once a sprawling empire, it is now a nation simmering with unrest. From the gilded halls of the Winter Palace to the impoverished streets of St. Petersburg, whispers of revolution fill the air. Meanwhile, with two shots of his FN Model 1910, terrorist assassin Gavrilo Princip has plunged Europe into chaos, and the embattled Czar Nicholas II is drawn into alliances that will soon pull his country into the deadliest war the world has ever seen, setting the stage for the Bolshevik Revolution. The series covers the triumph and tragedy of General Wrangel’s journey through the most turbulent period of his country’s history, from the battlefields of World War I to the years of terror that followed the Bolshevik Revolution. Wrangel, above all else, was one of the few men of his time who refused to bow to the terror. This premier issue was only made possible by the support of hundreds of backers over a month-long crowdfunding campaign. Thanks to the generous help of our backers, Wisner’s vision to bring the remarkable story of General Wrangel to life as never before, has now become a reality.

Alex Wisner is the author and illustrator of the Always With Honor graphic-novel series from Passage Publishing, a historic adventure that transforms Russian General Pyotr Wrangel's anti-Bolshevik memoirs into sweeping visual drama.
