Feministinnen Erwachen! 1st edn, extremely rare melodramatic book of heroine tubercular Babs Meyrick who dies sacrificing self for brother. Ten full page illustrations plus several in-text drawings. 45pps, very rare Tuck printing. Combined effort of three women with feminine plot (Babs drawn on rear cover) who is lead character. Author is pseudonym for Lilian Kate Rowland-Brown whose father was a wealthy London barrister. Drawings and Illustrations by Maude Porter (Victorian painter of upper class women and Ellen Welby-a London painter of genre and art nouveau flowers who exhibited between 1879 and 1904, primarily at the Royal Academy, but also the Grosvenor Gallery, the Royal Society of British Artists and the New Watercolour Society. Both were commercial artists and independent women of the period. Covers show edge wear and chip, blank page has vertical crease. Rare to find book this early with such active female collaboration. Date is a guess.
