Thick 8vo. in navy blue cloth lettered in gilt, map endpapers, xxii+ 1348 pp. with bibliography, index. 46 pages of maps. A near fine example, some loss to the spine lettering but quite scarce in the hardcover version. With the original printed dust wrapper, $7.50 price intact, sadly chipped about the edges and worn at the folds. A massive United States travel guide with mile-by-mile descriptions of where to go, what to see, and how to get there. Each town has the US Route number (and where applicable the State Route number) you'd take to find it. The country is divided into eight regions---New England, Middle Atlantic, Lake States, Plains States, the South, Mountain States, Southwest and West Coast. hundreds of tour suggestions are outlines to take the traveler to all points of interest in each area. From all large cities convenient trips within a forty-mile radius are described.
