In 1917, Arthur Clifford Kimber traded Stanford for the Western Front, carrying the first U.S. flag into battle. Through his letters, witness his transformation from an idealistic student to a war-hardened pilot amidst the chaos of WWI.
Experience the war firsthand: from vibrant descriptions of New York and encounters with historical figures like Theodore Roosevelt and Lillian Gish, to the stark realities of trench warfare and aerial dogfights. This collection unveils a young man's courage, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit. Perfect for readers seeking:
- Personal accounts of WWI
