This antique hardcover children's book is bound in pebbled dark brown cloth boards, with gilt lettering and decoration on the front cover and spine. Some edgewear; slight soil to pages; spine slightly cocked. Small bookseller's label on front inner board; gift inscription on an endpaper near the front. One page of publisher's ads at front; engraved frontispiece and first title page, plus eight full-page plates, and vignettes within the text. Contains short stories for children, including three Christmas tales. Virginia Frances Townsend was associate editor of T.S.
