"Eun Sul Lee, Ronald N. Forthofer, and Ronald J. Lorimor provide a well-written, descriptive, practical guide to analyzing complex survey data. Though the material presented is addressed primarily to the survey data analyst, this monograph is an excellent reference book for the libraries of survey designers, data preparers, and all who study, use, or teach survey sampling."
--Journal of Marketing Research
Social scientists are demanding more analytic studies of social survey data in order to examine a variety of emerging issues. Answering this need, Analyzing Complex Survey Data offers an effective means to explore and analyze complex surveys--and how to overcome problems that often arise. It includes discussions on the choices involved in variance estimation, simple random sampling without replacement, stratified random sampling, and two-stage cluster sampling and outlines the different computer programs that are currently available. This succinct, well-written volume concludes with a plea for more design-based, as compared to model-based, statistical inference.
