A charming and handsome copy of the rare first edition of this book. No other copies currently found for sale on the internet. Not dated but library sources suggest circa 1845. The very attractive later, half-leather binding, with raised bands and rich gilt decoration and title on the spine, and marbled boards, is in very good+ condition. A fascinating and wide-ranging 284-page text, with top edges brightly gilt, is in very good, tight, clean condition, with light age-browning of the frontispiece, title page and some other pages. Engraved frontispiece. See photographs attached. Weight 313g. (H-C).

Shipping terms
Most of my books can be shipped to any part of the world or collected by arrangement. Orders usually ship within 2 business days and frequently within one day of cleared payment. Please note that the default ABE shipping charges do not necessarily apply and that in most cases my shipping charges are considerably less. The rate for first-class Royal Mail letter post or parcel post within the UK is often specified with the item description. Please advise if you would prefer second-class post, recorded delivery, special delivery etc. If an overseas rate is not specified please ask for a quote. Post and packing charges are kept to a modest limit reflecting the true cost. If extra insurance (such as through special delivery or international signed for) is not detailed but required then please ask for a quote. In any event, for Royal Mail items a certificate of posting will always be obtained. All books are very securely packaged.
