Gr 4-6-Two slim titles that will be a boon to reluctant readers. In each book, a double-page spread is devoted to each of the dozen animals, with text and spot art on the verso and a full-page painting of the creature on the recto. The concise texts are clearly written and accessible. Journeys describes the life cycle and migration of both land and water animals. At Rest covers the habitats and sleep patterns of birds, fish, and mammals. The texts include some vital statistics such as each animal's height, weight, food, life span, and habitat.
