First Edition (London, 1890-91). Rebound as two volumes (NOT ex-library): Vol. I: frontis, xvi, 242pp; Vol. II: pp.243-512pp. Illustrated. Both volumes: No markings, annotations, or inscriptions (save for a short figure notation - possibly a price - to the front pastedown of each volume). Thus: internally fine, with expected ageing to the pages, and with dust-toning to the page block top edges. Pages tight and secure. Blue boards with bright gilt titling to the spines. Both volumes have surface markings, some bevelling to the corners, and a gentle press to the spine ends (with some additional pale staining to the back fore edge of Vol.II). Light scuffing to the spines. Visibly aged, but robust and with an unmarked text throughout.
