This volume is profusely illustrated including a large folding color illustrated lithograph of Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois; 13 numbered plates; A-G lettered plates of the Arsenal buildings and exterior views; 2 numbered plate views; a section of 10 total views of machinery/equipment, including a figure of "Lieut. Metcalfe's Internal-Pressure Gauge for Cannon", plates 1 thru 8 (no plate 9 inserted) and plate 10; followed by plates I & II; next, plates I-VII; including XlVI plates of machinery and equipment; 110 illustrated figures of ammunition and equipment; plates 4-16 of various map views of Arsenals [NOTE: PLATES 1-3 not present or not inserted with no evidence of removal]; followed by a large folding map of U.S. Arsenals east of the Mississippi; another XII additional plates; and 4 plates near the end. Some folding tables and illustrated figures included. Small pin holes at some of the fold intersections. This book is in fair condition otherwise. Folding maps and views are in good condition.
