. XII,325p. With 48 figures (photographs, charts, etc.; 1 folding) and 9 (8 folding) plates at end. Orig. gilt blue cloth. Very light spotting of back and marginal tear in 1 leaf, still a fine copy. First edition. An expanded version of an article with the same title, published in the journal Industrial Engineering of the previous year. In it, the author outlines the organization of a plant under scientific management. 'The instructions and forms show substantially the medium employed to incorporate the principles of the Science of Management into an efficent organization suitable for a plant under the specific conditions illustrated. The methods described are based on the practice of the Ferracute Machine Company, and differ only slightly from the approved practice of the original Taylor group.' *Thompson p.32.
