American edition, presumed first printing (code G-X to copyright page), 1916. No jacket. Large format. Decorations by Louis Rhead. Black boards with darker lettering to spine and pictorial front illustration are good with a little pushing/bumping to corners, few small marks, odd bump/rub to edges and a little pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Rough cut to page edges (the odd page is a little unevenly cut). Inside boards/end-papers tanned with the odd small mark/minor foxing. Top of pages slightly dusty. Pages bit tanned. Neat gift inscription and date in pen to front blank page. Very occasional small mark/spot of foxing to page edges and bottoms.
