The uncorrected proof is in the publisher's original soft covers.Both volumes are profusely illustrated throughout, with two maps to the rear, by prolific British artist and illustrator Edward Ardizzone, best known for his children's books.The diaries of Reverend Robert Francis Kilvert were first published in 1938, over fifty years after his death. Edited by prominent South African and British writer William Plomer, the works provide fascinating insight into life in the English countryside in the 1870s. These editions have been adapted for children by Elizabeth Divine. Ardizzone's Kilvert is bound in the publisher's original cloth and presented in the original unclipped dust wrapper. The uncorrected proof is in the publisher's original soft covers. Externally, smart with slight bumping and rubbing, and a few marks, heavier to the paperback edition. Dust wrapper very smart with only one or two small closed tears and light marking. Internally, firmly bound.
