Wayne State University Press. Detroit, MI. 1982. 197 pages. First edition, first printing. Book is very fine. Mustard cloth covered boards stamped in gold. Binding and hinges are sound. Endpapers and pages are bright and clean. Original DJ with $15.95 price intact on flap. Flaws are limited to a touch of sunning to beige hue on background color of DJ spine, a tiny scuff to rear of DJ, and a touch of scant, faint foxing on top edges (barely.) As for contents, chapters include, but are not limited to, dealing with village households, clan structures, daily life, marriage, childbirth, child rearing, rituals, beliefs, folktales, medicine, illness and death; and even food taboos. It is essentially every Armenian grandmother's own Armenian grandma; but in book form. A rich cultural history of the Armenian people up until WWI, which served as the first exodus of Armenian peoples from their homeland.
