A detailed and entertaining work on golfing, and how putting is the key to success in golf. Though the author was a professional golfer, this work is approachable for amateur golfers, explaining the sport in a plain and engaging language. This was one of the first instruction manuals for golf that was written by a professional player. Written by Willie Park, who was one of the top professional golfers of his era. He won the Open Championship twice, in 1887 and 1889. Letter tipped in to the front pastedown, 'Three yips and hurrah for . with our grateful thanks from Eva . Park and Irene Park'. These two appear to be relatives of the author. The letter is dated 6th September 1978, with the address '7 Greenhill Park, Edinburgh, EH10 4DW' In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. A little bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A few light marks to the boards. Letter tipped in to the front pastedown.
