Small marginal worm hole affecting 14 leaves in the bottom corner. The main text block is unaffected but a few of the catch words are slightly damaged. Later full calf, spine rebacked. Coles classified plants according to the Galenic system related to parts of the body. This first issue contains a savage attack on astrology which was removed from the second issue when Coles realised that Elias Ashmole to whom he had dedicated the book was himself an astrologer.
