Arthur Pue Gorman

First Edition (Baton Rouge, 1953). A copy formerly owned by Robert Floyd Kennon, 48th Governor of Louisiana, with his dated signature to the front flyleaf. No textual markings or annotations. Mild tanning to the page block (principally to the edges), but essentially internally fine for book's age. Unclipped dust jacket. Sundry chips and small tears to the spine ends, the edges, and the folds (with a perforation to the lower back fold), otherwise clean and complete. (Now in a protective archival cover.) Blue cloth with bright gilt titling to the spine, and with Gorman's signature in gilt to the front. The boards remain clean, secure, and in very good order, with a bump to the back fore edge and (very) gentle bevelling to the corners. 'Southern Biography Series'. Frontis, xv, 397pp.
