This issue is devoted almost entirely to Raghubir Singh, with: an essay and a 26-page portfolio of work by Singh; an essay about the photographer by Max Kozloff who also conducted a separate interview with Singh; the only non-Singh related article is by James Wescoat about life in a Mughal garden. Singh (1942–1999) was a self-taught Indian photographer, best known for his documentary-style, small-format street photography of the people of India.
