Item description from seller

Original blue cloth with bright gilt lettering to the spine, retaining the original M.I.T. Press dust jacket. The boards are clean and attractive, with only minor age-related wear. The binding is firm and the pages are clean throughout. Apart from a neat 1968 ownership inscription to the front free endpaper, the volume is completely unmarked, with no annotations, underlining, highlighting, stamps, or further inscriptions. The dust jacket remains complete and presents well, with light edge wear, small chips and short closed tears around the upper edge and spine ends, together with some age-related soiling to the rear panel. The jacket spine has faded from green to blue, while the lettering remains clear and legible. An attractive early printing of one of Chomsky's central works in generative grammar, retaining the original dust jacket.
