Ramseur died in the Second Valley Campaign and this address is a eulogy with biographical information as well as political and historical context of the contributing factors leading the country into the Civil War. This copy from the library of Civil War historian and scholar Gary W. Gallagher with a note card on another bookseller's stationary noting its importance to him in his work on Ramseur.
