Gray cloth stamped in bright red titles on spine. Pages and endpapers are clean. Book is about fine with two minor flaws: a faint, erased name on FFEP, and a tiny dent on rear panel edge (tiny.) Uncommon original DJ with $5.00 price-clipped from flap. DJ shows very light rubbing with minor soiling on rear. A couple of small shallow chips at crown and heel. A step by step chronicle of the famous Astor Place Opera House Riot of 1849; a fiasco that left 31 dead and 120 injured, and was the largest number of civilian casualties due to military action in the United States since the American Revolutionary War.
