About the Author

Atanarjuat, The Fast Runner was written by the late Paul Apak Angilirq, directed by Zacharias Kunuk adn produced by Igloolik Isuma Productions, an Inuit production company with a ten-year history of making realistic low-cost drama in the challenging environment of the Arctic. The Fast Runner has won them numerous prizes and awards, including the Camera D'Or at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival.
