Quarter faux brown leather with gilt titles and blue patterned cloth with titles & decoration in gilt; 4to; 497pp; marbled-style endsheets; illustrated with b/w & color photos, drawings, maps and facsimiles; not issued with dust jacket; published in an edition of 1000 unnumbered copies. With much information on Hogan's early fishing in his native Adirondacks and also the Rangeley area of Maine with an emphasis on wet flies and streamer patterns; correspondence between Hogan and noted tiers of the day; influential angling literature and an interesting closing chapter on unusual flies tied by Hogan. Lavishly illustrated with hundreds of historical images. A must for the fly tying historian. Heavy book- may require extra postage for foreign customers.
