A very smart pair of first editions of this illustrated autobiographical work. A pair of first editions, in original green cloth, with gilt lettering to the spines.Both volumes feature frontispiece portraits of the subject, William Bell Scott, with volume 2 featuring an additional identical duplicated frontispiece.Together, the two volumes contain a total of 15 further monochrome plates, and additional vignette illustrations. Collated, complete.Portrait of Christina Rossetti plate in volume I weak.William Bell Scott was a highly influential Scottish painter and printmaker, in addition to writing his own poetry.This biography of Scott was written by Professor William Minto. Bound in original green cloth. Externally, very smart. Hinges starting. Slight rubbing to extremities. Very mild bumping to extremities. Small marks to rear boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean. Very slight spotting to the text block edges. Age toning to frontispiece tissue guards.
