Inscription of Alice C. Johnson Feb. 11, 1893. Ship ticket dated 12/2013.First American Edition. Complete in 2 volumes. Large 8vo. Illustrated plates with tissue guards. Turquoise cloth with gilt lettering to spines. A fine set. William Bell Scott (1811-1890) was a Scottish artist in oils and watercolour and occasionally printmaking. He was also a poet and art teacher, and his posthumously published reminiscences give a chatty and often vivid picture of life in the circle of the Pre-Raphaelites. Normal shelfwear to spine and extremities. Spine NOT faded, Very Good to Near Fine Condition, particularly for its age!; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 776 pages.
