Near fine, stated first edition / printing thus, blue cloth over boards w copper font on spine. xxii + 467 pps including 39 pages of blk/white illustrations. Interior pages unmarked, clean, bright and tight - appears unread. Noted flaw - discoloration on rear cover of book. Dust jacket unclipped, minimal shelf wear and now under mylar cover."What becomes a legend most, but a deeper realization of the legend? Huizinga's study of fourteenth- and fifteenth-century French and Dutch culture and art has been a bestseller (for a book about the Middle Ages, that is) since it was translated into English in 1924.
