Add to basketA very good plus copy of the first edition of 1905. This copy has been privately rebound in coarse red cloth with gilt lettering to the spine and front board. The binding is very clean and tight with sharp, square corners. Inside the endpapers are uncracked and the text block remarkably fresh, the only markings being a tidy owner's signature to the ffep, and a small binder's label to the rear pastedown. A handful of pages have had small closed tears very neatly repaired - probably about six or seven. The only noteworthy flaw is the fact that the title page is starting to pull away from the rest of the text block - it is still attached, however. All eight of the illustration pages are present, including the tissue guarded frontispiece. Overall a very clean and sound copy of this Haggard classic.
