Auction Catalogue 60 pages , Condition Binding Very good, minor corner tip wear. Contents very good, clean & tight, no inscriptions + Christie s compliment slip + photocopy of results. + Christie s envelope. The catalogue not used as the two entrance tickets are still intact. Contains b/w & colour illustrations. The polished B.R.M aluminium wheel nut centre/cover in good condition, minor scratches. The unused B.R.M. transfer, made by Selex Decals for the Owen Organisation/ B.R.M in fair/good condition with ageing, due to age is attached to Selex Decals backing paper, with Selex Decals tissue front detached. The 3 signed letters of correspondence from Peter Spear ( one letter/envelope on Rubery Owen paper, one letter/envelope & 0ne letter on Peter Spear & Associate paper) in fair to very good condition with some ageing etc. All mention the wheel nut cover (one states enclosed with the letter), one mentions some of the history of the script on the wheel nut cover and details of how/who was involved, also some details of Catalogue production and which illustration in catalogue that clearly shows a wheel nut cover on a B.R.M. racing car. The B.R.M. Collection at Earls Court Motorfair catalogue for Thursday 22nd October 1981, in association with Lord Montagu of Beaulieu. Alfred Owen of the Rubery Owen group of companies. Owen, took over the team in its entirety. Between 1954 and 1970 the team entered its works F1 cars under the official name of the Owen Racing Organisation. Peter Spear was director of research at Rubery Owen, and was also co author of books inc. The Development of the Rover-BRM. & Some aspects of motor racing research (on the technicalities as exercised by BRM). So with the signed correspond and the B.R.M. polished aluminium wheel nut cover with the Owen Organisation/ B.R.M transfer, make this a unique lot. Size: 18.5 x 24.5cm Approx.
