Only 2,000 copies printed. Large, thick 4to. (31 cm.) 627p. Profusely (!) illustrated with hundreds of black and white captioned photos. [List of] Veterans: Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, Korean War Conflict, Vietnam War, and Servicemen of Barry County serving when this book was published. [List of] Centennial Farms of Barry County. Three narratives as follows: Indian Landing, History of Circle Pines Center and Johnstown Township Outdoor Education Center. Barry County Index. Endpapers are maps. Brown cloth made to look like wood with raised letters in gilt on the front cover and the spine and with a raised stylized image of the county courthouse. No noticeable wear to extremities, cloth clean and bright, gilt bright (!), all photos in fine condition, newsprint shadow on front free endpaper, else fine with no internal markings. No dust jacket, probably as issued. Besides narratives about hundreds of families, this book contains the expected information on churches, schools, businesses, clubs, and the like. Just a mine of information about the place and its inhabitants and a gold mine for genealogists. Per a newspaper article laid in, which describes the publishing of this book, it weighs &.5 pounds; thus, extra postage may well be required for this large and very heavy book.
