This new copy is bound in illustrated card covers as issued. The contents are bright, tight, white and square. International postal rates are calculated on a book weighing 1 Kilo, in cases where the book weighs more than 1 Kilo increased postal rates will be quoted, where the book weighs less then postage will be reduced accordingly. Berlin in May 1945. World War II is over in Europe. The soviet army has conquered Berlin, a city reduced to rubble, and now under martial law. Soldiers from the U.S., Great Britain, and France will move in a few months later. Broken tanks and make shift barricades litter the streets, tenements and churches have been reduced to bombed out shells. German soldiers are hauled off to POW camps in Siberia, while women are trading clothing for survival, and children are left to their own devices. The victors, Russian soldiers, look as exhausted as the defeated Germans. These rare pictures were taken by photographers of the Red Army after the surrender.
