Octavo, pp. [i-vi] vii-ix [x-xii] 1-313 [314] [315: blank] [316: ads], publisher's red cloth stamped in gold. First edition, first printing with printing code "(1)" at base of text on page [314]. A collection of articles and recollections first published in his famous column "Bob Davis Recalls," which ran on the editorial page of the New York SUN. In 1904 Robert Hobart Davis (1869-1942) was hired as fiction editor of the Munsey magazines where he promoted and published many new writers including Edgar Rice Burroughs. Gold lettering on the spine panel tarnished, a very good copy. (#175099).
