First edition (not stated but with matching dates upon title and copyright pages). 306 pages. Hardcover: H 23.25cm x L 15.5cm. No dust jacket (as issued?). Maroon cloth with light rubbing and mottling; bumping to spine ends; usual dulling to spine's gilt stamped lettering but all still easily legible; minor flaking to front board's otherwise still reasonably bright gilt and white stamping. Slight toning/foxing to text block edges. Interior pages are clean. Binding is firm. A very good+ copy. With original blue errata slip laid-in between pages 122-123. Reviews Mississippi State's teams and letterman in the college's various sports including football, basketball, baseball, track and field, cross country, tennis, boxing, rifle team, etc. John Wendell Bailey authored a sequel THE M BOOK OF ATHLETICS; MISSISSIPPI STATE COLLEGE. VOLUME 2 SEPTEMBER 1930 TO JUNE 1947 which was published in September 1947 (a copy of which is also available).
