Six wonderful, dark olive green cloth, hardback books with gilt titles on both the front board and spine. The six books are in used condition, but are still in very good order considering they are over one hundred years old. Normal wear, marks and tear apply consistent with use and age. There is the odd mark here and there, some wear to corners and ends of the spine, the odd tiny spec of spotting but otherwise these books still have plenty to offer future generations that are interested in Nature Study. The six books come in six complete volumes, starting with volume one right through to volume six, sequentially. Vol. I: has 212 pages and the inside cover has the Dissected Model of a Pigeon, with pull out model in both black and white and colour. Vol. II: has 222 pages, and inside cover has pull model in colour of Outer Shell of Mussel. Vol. III: has 228 pages, the inside cover page and following page has a coloured plates of a Dissected Model of a Tulip. Vol. IV: 210 pages, with inside pages showing a Model of a Pea Pod, with Dissections. Vol. V: has 224 pages, Vol. VI: has 244 pages. All pages intact in volumes I to V, however in volume VI pages 39-42 & pages 183 to 186 are loose pages and pages 183 to 186 are torn. All pages, text and gorgeous illustrations/plates are in really very good, clean, readable order. The book is edited by Professor Bretland Farmer M.A., D.Sc. (Oxon), F.R.S. who was the professor of Botany, Royal College of Science, London, and has set out a preface in volume one. The contributors of the book were as follows: J.
