Privately published by Bishop, a local author ( A Peep into the Past- Brighton in the Olden Time etc) at the request of friends as a memorial of the Chain Pier destroyed in a storm on 4th December 1896. VG (Book- re-sewn on cords and re-cased in plain cloth with new end papers probably within last 30 years. A little rubbing to cloth at head and tail of spine and a few light shelf marks.
