Charles Furlong's account of Eastern Oregon's famous Pendleton Round-Up, covering a 4 year period from 1913 to 1917. Furlong wanted to educate the "blase, effete, lily-livered youths" of America about the values of an "honorable physical contest"--the rodeo.
