Backgammon (first printing in rare DJ with Chances/Odds insert) Complete Backgammon with Exact Odds & Chances; strategy and rules for expert, average and beginner players

Cosmopolitan Book Corporation, New York. 1931. 113 pages. First edition, first printing. 1931 date on title page and copyright page; with no additional printings. Laid-in is the uncommon 4 page insert with chances and odds listed, to be used during game play. The very rare DJ is present; front, back and flaps. The spine of the DJ is absent, and one-sixth of DJ is missing on upper front, and edge closer to spine. Regardless of its obvious flaws, the mere fact that any part of the DJ exists is an achievement, as these DJs have crumbled away. Book is tight. Binding and hinges are strong and sound. Pages and endpapers are clean, with minimal, minor soiling and age-toning. Green ilustrated boards are bright. A couple of small spots on front cover. Slight fade surrounding the spots, where a light cleaning was applied. Minor light shelf-rubbing. An uncommon first edition, first printing with insert, and rare DJ. VG/Fair.
