Synopsis
The Backpack Diaries is an inspirational and adventure based true story of two best friends in their thirties, who are at a simultaneous crossroads in their lives, in search of adventure, fun, and a better understanding of the world and their role in it. Together they make the daring and unconventional decision to walk away from their earthly possessions, consuming careers, goal oriented lives, unfulfilling relationships, and beloved loved ones and strap on a backpack and set off to explore the world for 2 years. Halfway through their ensuing adventures, they part ways. One summons the will to stay the course and finds the gateway to personal transformation and the other returns home and discovers the gateway to falling in love. About the Author
Traci Bogan, Dreampreneur: DreampreneurTM [dreem pruh-noor] noun, one who is determined and focused on, achieving their goals, fulfilling their dreams, and living a life of purpose and design at all costs, despite all obstacles, and opposition. Traci Bogan In 1991 Traci moved to Hawaii and explored the islands for a year. The following year she returned to Wisconsin and spearheaded a campaign to increase the criminal Statute of Limitations for sex crimes against children. Assembly Bill 250 became a Wisconsin law in 1994. After the legislation passed, she returned back to Hawaii and earned the necessary credentials to work in a variety of medical practices, including as a scrub nurse for world renowned plastic surgeon, Robert S. Flowers. After a decade of Hawaiian living, Traci traded her stethoscope for a backpack and fulfilled her lifelong dream of seeing the world. She has since blazed trails through 43 countries and has also lived in China, Alaska, and Texas. After completing a marketing degree, writing four books, and becoming an independent businesswoman she branched out into public speaking to share her lessons from around the world and goal mastery secrets. Her message has become a bridge that connects people with their dreams. The self-proclaimed Dreampreneur keeps her vow of visiting a new country each year. Amy Oberstadt: Amy s thirst for travel began shortly after graduating from University of WI-Madison in 1989 when she signed up for a tour through what then the Soviet Union. She returned to UW-Madison in 1995 and supplemented her college studies with medical mission trips to El Salvador and Belize. She has lived in Hawaii, Colorado, Texas, Alaska, and China and has traveled through 30 countries. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant studies. She is currently working as a Physician Assistant and has earned a graduate degree in Public Health. After leaving her world tour with her best friend and co-author, Traci Bogan, she returned to her Wisconsin roots and now resides in Appleton. She continues to travel throughout he world.
