Blue cloth with gilt title lettering and decoration. 100 pages. Color illustrations of baked items throughout; black and white step-by-step photography instructional photographs. The cover is slightly bowed with scuff marks; the fore edge is worn. Within the text block is some spotting, particularly in the 'cakes' section. Overall a moderately clean, solidly bound copy. Recipes are for non-yeast foods such as biscuits, cakes, popovers etc., there are also section on table setting, the school lunchbox, the evolution of baking powder, menus for special occasions etc. In 1929, the Royal Baking Powder Co., along with four other companies merged to form Standard Brands. ; 8vo. Hardcover. Condition: Poor. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. This very, very well-loved hardcover cookbook is in poor condition with heavy staining and wear to the cover. Some of the cloth is missing on the spine and each section was taped by a previous owner. One large crease to the board of the back cover. Gilt lettering and illustration on the front cover is dull and hard to read. Binding is fully cracked at the Index and Forward page, and several pages are free of the binding, however, no pages appear to be missing.
