Exlibrary, usual marks; 2 volume set; original 1881 edition in hand-sewn white vellum bindings; gilt titles on front and spine; gilt top edges; library call no. added at base of spines; covers heavily soiled; corners bumped and rubbed through; tears at spine heads; Vol I missing material at head of spine; Vol I hinges cracked; set internally in very good condition; page edges lightly toned; small chips at pages edges; all 13 plates in very good condition; some tissue guards creased.
