It had been more than a half-century since Springfield had hosted minor league baseball. That ended in 2005 when Hammons Field became the home of the Springfield Cardinals of the AA Texas League and once again the Queen city of the Ozarks was part of baseball's landscape. Has black and white photos of Heinie Mueller, Mike Ryba, Johnny Keane, Paul Dean, Eddie Dyer, plus the Springfield Stars who were one of the most successful all-black semi pro teams. In very good condition. I have hundreds of books on the minor leagues plus around 260 publications on the Negro Leagues and Black Sports in stock.
