RARE "First edition September 30, 1932" (on title page). Heavy manila stapled wraps with title on front, as issued. 209 pages. Light creases to wraps, Front wrap still secure but loosening from staple at top and bottom. The Department of Military Science and Tactics was one of the original departments of the University of Minnesota. During the 1920s, opposition to mandatory military training at land-grant colleges and universities began. On June 17, 1934, the Regents voted to ban compulsory drill, making the University of Wisconsin and Minnesota the only land-grant institutions in the United States that operated ROTC programs on a voluntary basis, at the time.
