The second editions of Rome, and the Italian Lakes, and the first edition of Dalmatia, within the Beautiful Books About Italy collection of Black's Popular Colour Books series. All three volumes published in 1925. In the publisher's original blue cloth. Among the most popular and picturesque countries in the globe, these visual displays of Italy and its surrounding regions highlight the country's beauty. As well as being a charming travel guide, the volumes delve into Italy's fascinating history and landscape. - Rome, described by M.A.R. Tuker and Hope Malleson, and illustrated by Alberto Pisa. The revised edition. Contains a frontispiece, and all thirty-one other colour plates. Collated complete. Publisher's original advertisements to rear, with a small advertisement booklet for series. (1925, first published in 1905). - The Italian Lakes, described by Richard Bagot, and illustrated by Ella Du Cane. Second edition. Contains a frontispiece, and all thirty-one other colour plates. Collated complete. (1925, first published in 1925). - Dalmatia, described by Horatio F. Brown, and illustrated by Walter Tyndale. First edition. Contains a frontispiece, and all twenty-three other colour plates, and a monochrome plate of Diocletian's Palace. Collated complete. (1925). In the publisher's original blue cloth. Externally, the odd faint mark, a little more frequent to Dalmatia. Slight rubbing to joints and edges of Dalmatia and Lakes. Bumping to the heads and tails of the spines, and to the extremities. Fading to Rome, heaviest to spine. Offsetting to Dalmatia and Lakes end papers, heavier to Lakes free end papers. Faint scattered spotting to Rome end papers. Previous owner's ink inscriptions to front free end paper of Lakes. Prize bookplate to front free end paper of Rome, and previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown of Dalmatia. Internally, generally firmly bound, with a loose illustrations table leaf to Dalmatia and slight wear between title leaf and frontispiece. Pages are mostly bright and clean, with the odd spot and browning to first and final leaves of Rome and Dalmatia, and slight age toning to extremities of Dalmatia. Good.
