Beginnings: Are Science And Scripture Partners In The Search For Origins?

Life's always more complicated than you expect it to be. It's been that way since the beginning!
Scientific theories that present simple answers to the age-old question "Where did I come from?" usually prove inadequate.
Leonard Brand understands these things, and he has a knack for making complicated things easy to grasp. This book may not provide all the simple answers we might wish we had about the relationship between science and the bible, but it does introduce us to the kind of questions that need to be asked. Questions such as, Is it possible to believe in both the Bible and microevolution? Does natural selection ever produce more advanced life forms? How do creationists explain why ostriches have wings and humbans have wisdom teeth and appendixes?
No matter what theory on creation or evolution you support, you'll find thought-provoking questions and answers here.
But more important, you'll find good reason to believe that there is a Mind behind creation—the mind of a God who carefully put it all together, and who still cares about His handiwork. Including you.

Leonard Brand has been a researcher and professor of biology and paleontology at Loma Linda University for 35 years. He has published research papers in scientific journals and articles in church magazines. He has a Ph.D. from Cornell University. Leonard lives in California with his wife and has two grown children.
