A first edition copy of this scarce novel by French novelist René Maizeroy. The first edition of this scarce work in a quarter morocco binding. Bookplate of Elizabeth Sherman Cameron (1869-1944), the wife of U.S. Senator J. Donald Cameron, to the front paste down. Elizabeth Cameron lived as an expatriate in Paris during the First World War, where she ran a "Foyer aux Refugies" to aid refugees from Belgium and France. A novel written in the original French by René Maizeroy (1856-1918), a French novelist, best known for Les Deux Amies. René Maizeroy was a pseudonym used by Baron René-Jean Toussaint. This novel is now scarce to see. In a quarter morocco binding. Externally fairly smart, with shelf wear to the extremities and rubbing to the joints. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with the occasional spot. Very Good. Seller Inventory # 863M17
