Bound in tan cloth with tiltes in gilt (title on front cover and spine), series name on spine in red, publisher on spine in black, along with front cover decorations in black and red. First edition, with corresponding 1913 dates to the title and copyright pages and no additional printings. With a frontispiece and three internal illustrations on coated paper. One page of ads at the rear, listing the four titles in the breeder set, all issued in 1913. Former owner's bookplate to the front pastedown; gift inscription to the front free endpaper, dated Xmas 1916.The cloth shows just a touch of edgewear with a 3/8" closed snag to the head of the spine. Hinges solid; binding square. A clean, bright copy. Uncommon in this binding.
