Hardcover with dustjacket, first printing as stated on copyright page, thin strip of tanning along the top and bottom edges of the blue cloth and to the blank end-papers, the book is clean and tight, the contents are fine and there are no other remarkable flaws, the jacket is price-clipped, has a few edge-chips and tears, has a short open tear on the rear panel, and fading to the red spine, the jacket is clean and remains presentable and a professional (removable) mylar cover is included, "a treasury of the top humorous writing of the twentieth century".
